Lounge or bar in plat hostel keikyu minowa forest
The hostel is nice and very, very pretty. The decor is great, which is very rare for hostels or shared houses and for me it definitely makes it feel like it's better or fancier. But facility-wise, it's just like other hostels: has a small kitchen, one laundry machine, bathrooms are shared (1 per floor of about 10 rooms, with 1 shower booth and toilet seat). One particularly good thing about this one was the lounge though, it's a great space for working or chilling. Two things I didn't like in the room were:1) the lighting, which consists of 1 lamp on only one side of the room, so the bed is always in the dark. Not great if you plan to read something. And 2) the floor was quite dusty in the bedroom, which is kind of unexpected in Japan. They give you free slippers though, which compensates for that.

Fantastic location!! The staff were so friendly too and recommended me areas :) the rooms were great for a single traveller, enough space to put your things. You won’t even feel that you’re living with other people with the bathrooms, they’re so clean! Never had any issues using the shower room as well or had to wait, but who knows how it is in busier months. Location is seriously amazing, 7-11 close by and near train stations too!

My stay in one of the ground floor rooms was amazing. The room is spacious and comes with its own humidifier and aircon. The hostel is located 2 blocks away from the nearest major road and you can sleep soundly without the usual train/highway sounds in Tokyo. The staff were very polite and communicates well. The shared toilet and shower are also always clean.

Staff were excellent, very friendly and good English. The rooms were tidy, reasonably sized (by Japanese standards), almost like a business hotel as much as a hostel. there were plenty of showers and toilets, although they are shared, but never had to wait for one and they were always exceptionally tidy. clothes washing was available for a small fee.

What I liked about the plat was how modern and clean it was. I didn’t feel like I was at a hostel at all! The bed and amount of space that we had was perfect for me and my boyfriend. It’s conveniently a close walk to 7-11, Family Mart, and the Minowa station. We also walked from there to the main Asakusa area in about 15 minutes.
